Another Birthday Over

Well, what an amazing couple of days.

Friday Jess turned 5! A really busy day with Trev having to take to day off work to drive her around. She had her last school visit from 9-11am at Brighton which she was super excited about so I let her wear one of her school shirts! Very cute - also very real! How cute does she look in her skinny leg jeans!

Anyway - after school was childcare then Trev picked her up around 4pm before we had 20 family and friends come for pizza, drinks and birthday cake!

Saturday I had the all day scrap which was just fantastic. I have never been to something so well organized and everyone was having so much fun! Jane and the staff have done the most amazing job. I taught my class after lunch with a pocket full of nerves but it went really well and all the ladies put together a beautiful page. Home about 5pm totally exhausted and aching all over.

Sunday was the party for Jessica at Hungary Jacks. Over the last few years, we have had huge fun filled parties at home with jumpy castles and heaps of people and always ended in me drinking too much and a massive mess. So this year I decided it was time to make the mess somewhere else! Made the chocolate cake late Saturday night after I had relaxed a bit and decorated it this morning. Jess picked out the sprinkles and the little icing fairies and it looked pretty great!

A few family portraits before heading of the the party! (yes - more to scrap!!)

Oh yeah - you know how I said I might submit those pages I did, well would you believe "She's Got Style" got accepted into Scrapbooking Memories magazine! Now I have to recreate it to put on display in the shop so I can teach it on August 2nd!!

Hi there Natalie,

Thank you for submitting your page to Scrapbooking Memories. Your layout is
lovely and we would be thrilled to consider Shes Got Style for our ENCORE
gallery.

I'm pretty bloody happy. I don't scrapbook to get published but it is nice to be recognized every now and again!

Well, I have a full week of cleaning up, scrapping and spending time with happy daks before school holidays! So have a wonderful week and leave me a comment so I know who is popping in to visit!!!

She's turning 5

I cant believe that our little girl is turning 5 tomorrow!

When did that happen?

She is not big enough to go to school by herself. But on the other hand - she is so very ready!

Stay tuned for an update on the birthday happenings!

Twins!!!

I have just had a visit from my very pregnant girlfriend Kerry who is pregnant with TWIN GIRLS!!!

I cant wait to meet these two beautiful little people! So very exciting and a little scary. It is quite bizarre to look at her and know that there are two babies in there instead of the "normal" one. Just amazing.... anyways - just sharing the love!

Pages to show

Thought I had better pop my head in and show what I have been working on for the last day or so. There are two layouts that I will be teaching at Seriously Scrapbooking in August for 7Gypsies month. I am so happy with how they turned out - especially the "She's Got Style" page. Might even submit that one. You'll have to pop into the shop to see them! :)

Well, two more sleeps until my little baby turns 5!!! Took her to school yesterday and bought her the school uniform - which she is rather excited about. She starts at Brighton Primary on the 23rd of next month! The count down is on!!

This weekend is the ALL DAY SCRAP at the shop. This is the page I am teaching to 100 women!!! That's right -- 100 women! All at once! Should be a great day as they will be doing 4 projects in total.

Well, off to do some more work and hang out the washing - YAY!

And just because .... here's a self portrait Jess took on Sunday at Dave's 50th! (and yes I drank way too much)

Sneak Peek

After sitting up until 2am this morning, I finally finished my little 7gypsies mini book for the class I am teaching on August 6th. Turned out SOOOO much better than I expected and I am REALLY thrilled with it!

Had a nice weekend so far. Went out yesterday to watch Trev's old football team play. Actually play is not the right word - maybe - get their arses kicked it better! :) I was nice to go out to a game as it has been probably 12 months! We used to go every weekend for 10 years but now that Trevor's body has started complaining and he has retired, we just find something else to do as a family. This afternoon we are off to a friend 50th birthday afternoon tea thingy which will end up in us getting rather drunk I am predicting!!! It's only around the corner so Jess can ride her bike and we will walk! Should be a great afternoon.

Well, I am off to make the lolly bags for Jess' party next weekend!

Couple of pages ..............

I have had a really quiet week this week. Not much happening which is good. Quiet is good!

I have spent the last couple of days sitting at my craft table and searching the net for inspiration for the classes I have to teach in August. To be honest - I am stressing a little as the shop is having 7Gypsies month - meaning all the classes will be using 7Gypsies. Easy right??? It's so far out of my comfort zone that I cant even picture what I could do!! BUT - I have decided to get over it and come up with the goods and stop wingeing about it! So keep an eye out for something a little different from me!

Had craft witht he girls last night and did these 2 page for the DT (design team) for Click N Scrap. I love the photos of Jess & Sophie - they are so cute. Did a few cards too but not showing them! :) The first page is using the new BoBunny papers and the one of me and Trev is using the Smitten range from K&Company.

These two pages are older ones! I really love the one of me with my hopes for 2008! You may have to click on the pic to read the journalling. The other page was part of the Sketches Class I taught last month!

Well, I'm off to work tomorrow (at 5star) which will be nice so stay safe!

Dont forget about the giveaway - drawing it on Saturday morning!!!

Acrylic Album!!!

Hey there people - including you lovely chicks who were in my class tonight!!! :)

Quiet week so far in the May house! Not much happening which is kinda nice. Mum and Dad came for tea last night & I cooked a kick arse Pork roast! (trust me - this is an event in our house cause I am TERRIBLE in the kitchen).

Other than that - I have been doing a bit of card making and scrapping! I am so far behind on getting some of these pages done but I'll get there!!!

Now - for those in my class tonight, scroll down to the very bottom of the page and you'll find the pictures of the acrylic album that we did tonight! I thought I had already uploaded them!!!

Here are a couple of older pages to have a look at! :)

OK Bye for now - and dont forget to leave a comment to go in the draw for the giveaway!

Have ya seen it??????

I'm FAMOUS!!!!!!

Well - I'm in the latest Scrapbook Creations magazine anyway!

Go buy it now! :)

Brisbane Continued .....

OK ... Where was I????

Sunday - The second class I did on Sunday was with Caroline Lau again from Maya Road and made this little sheer flip book! Came out gorgeous!! Used the little chipboard trees and shapes and also used a spray mist again but the white just didn't dry properly leaving marks on the pages.

Anyways .... after the expo, I went to the PrintBlocks 20th Anniversary Birthday party at the Plough Inn. Nothing like walking into a room and not knowing a soul! Spotted Yolanda and Heidi from Scrappy Hollow so spent most of the night talking to them before they left. After that I just became my usual chatty self after a few glasses of wine and met everyone in the room!! Was a lucky night too - I won the door prize - TWICE!!! I won a Karen Foster 180 pack of papers and then a $500 advertising voucher which I gave back as I thought it was rude winning twice! Sorry Jane! Walked back to the hotel in the rain about 9.30pm.

Monday 9th June
Late start to the day - woke feeling a little bit ordinary but left hotel about 9.30am and went straight to the expo. Spent the morning looking at all the stands and talking to a lot of the exhibitors looking for new products for Jane to sell in the shop.
First class was the K&Company clock which I TOTALLY LOVE!!!!

And the second class was with Gail from Making Memories. The class was VERY basic but I did come away with LOTS of free stuff .

Well .... in summary - it was a great trip - Very tiring, very exciting, my brain hurts, my feet are killing me but I met SO many creative and amazing people and cant wait to do it again!!!!

Trip of the Year!!!!

Well, the long weekend away was just fantastic! I have learnt so much, met so many people and have seen some amazing and inspiring work!

So, make yourself a cuppa and sit back and relax - cause here is the long version!!!

Friday 6th June

After the plane being delayed 40mins, I arrived in Brissy about 4.40pm to a beautiful warm 27C! Caught the airtrain to SouthBank station - Note to self....dont do this again in peak hour traffic and when it is dark. Stupid me never considered it to be pitch black when trying to find the hotel but after a 10min walk - found it, checked in and was quiet pleased with myself! For $89 per night, the room was pretty great - queen and single bed, bathroom, little kitchen and TV!! What else does a chick need? Unpacked then went searching for some food and groceries! Early night - I reckon I was snoring by 10pm!

Saturday 7th June
Raining!!! Can you believe it??? It's bucketing down. People in the next room were up at 7am and rather noisy - thanks for that!
Shoe crisis - again I'm not sure what I was thinking but I did not pack walking shoes and paid dearly with horrible blisters - this is just from the airport to the hotel! Yes I am a twit! So this morning I was off in search of a pair of thongs! The hotel was right at the very far end of SouthBank so I left the hotel at 8.30am and walked all the way into the Queen Street Mall. Yes - it was a bloody long walk and next time I will bus it!! Found thongs - bus back to hotel, picked up craft gear then walked into the expo!
Met the gorgeous Kim Nutley - one of the girlies I talk to on Essential Baby. It's funny cause I talk to these girls most days online and when I met Kim it was like I have met her before and known her forever! Very down to earth and just lovely!
First class for the day was at noon with Lynette Carroll from K&Company. The Mira Bag book. A really easy class using the Mira range from K&Co. Met Yolanda from Scrappy Hollow - she was lovely. Will teach a similar version at Seriously Scrapbooking later in the year I think!!!
Second class was with the amazing Rachelle Minnett. This was the best class of the weekend for me I think! Totally perfect for me! Using her Rusty Pickle rage that she designed and also using watercolour pencils which I have not used since high school. LOVED IT!! Needed a CropADile for this class and managed to pick one up at the expo for $32.95 - 40% off! BARGAIN!
After the classes, I dropped my gear back at the hotel the wandered back through SouthBank and found a nice little Italian Restaurant for tea! Back to the hotel and finished off the two projects!

Sunday 8th June
Had a really good nights sleep. Early risers in the next room again - YAY! Walked through the South Bank Markets before heading to the expo today. Met Sharnie - the owner of Click N Scrap for coffee and to chat about the Design Team gig! She is just gorgeous too - really lovely!!
Sharnie gave me a MASSIVE pile of product to take home and work with so I cant wait to get started on that!
First class for today was with Caroline Lau from Maya Road - a sweet little coaster book using all Maya Road products and Glimmermist. Super easy product that makes covering chipboard so easy.

OK...enough with the photos for today - I still have more so will post tomorrow!!
