ABStudio Blog Hop

I am super excited to be invited to the ABStudios Blog Hop

I picked out some super gorgeous TandiArt Stencils and know straight away that I wanted to create a fun Art Journal page.

I started out giving my Journal a really good coat of gesso to make sure that my paper was sealed.
I then made a light pencil outline of where the images would go.

I used 13arts Gesso to create texture on the backgound around where the images would go.

Once the gesso is day, I used a blending sponge and Blackout Ink to add my images to the page.

Blackout ink is perfect ink for the job as its nice and black and waterproof ready for the colour to be added around it.
I started with a combination of green Magicals to paint on colour at the bottom of the page. I love the way the colour  seeps into the rough gesso.

I repeated the process with a combination of blues and then coloured my gorgeous stenciled images after that.

Once the colour has gone on, I used my stabilo pencil to darken the inked stenciled lines and a Micron pen over the words to link them together and intensify the black.

These stencils are just so very super cute and I cant wait to keep on playing with them.
